Polyester film company Terphane, Bloomfield, N.Y., is showcasing the consumer appeal, shelf life enhancement and sustainability benefits of its products at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit.

Terphane representatives will be discussing Sealphane and Ecophane products at the expo Oct. 18-19 in Anaheim, Calif., at booth No. 2503A.

“Sealphane films are highly transparent and have anti-fog functionality, enabling the consumer to view the product and enjoy high-quality printed images—even when the product is exhibited in refrigerated shelves,” Mike Nickens, North American sales manager, said in a news release.

The peelable seals reduce shredding of the packaging, making them consumer-friendly, according to the release. They can be used with trays made from a variety of materials, including pulp and coated paperboard.

Ecophane films are created with a minimum of 30% post-consumer recycled PET, and are aligned with the “circular economy” concept, according to the release, meaning they can be recycled into new packaging.

“The development of Ecophane not only follows the sustainability metrics established by Terphane, but also fulfills brand owners’ search for more sustainable packaging,” Nickens said in the release.
