Allen Lund Co. donates to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Employees from the information technology department at Allen Lund Co., La Cañada, Calif., recently visited the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles to donate a mobile video game cart.

The donation was through Project GO Kart, a Gamers Outreach program

Over the past year, the Allen Lund department had an in-house fundraiser to buy the GO-Kart for the hospital, according to a news release. Activities included casual dress passes during the summer and raffles that went until the end of 2019. To maximize their efforts, every sub-department donated a raffle prize during the holidays.

“To learn about how the GO Kart can help distract kids from day-to-day medical procedures rather than just an alternative escape from being in the hospital was an eye-opening experience. It has also encouraged us to be more active in partnering with (the hospital) in the future,” Marvin Manuel, electronic data interchange coordinator, said in the release.

The GO Kart fundraiser with the final presentation was one of many charitable acts in 2019 in conjunction with Allen Lund’s company-wide Acts of Kindness campaign.
