Coosemans educates NY show visitors about specialties
NEW YORK — Wilda Ortega took all sorts of specialty produce out of display baskets to show visitors at the Coosemans New York booth at the New York Produce Show and Conference.
The company displayed baby zucchini, yellow dragonfruit and tardivo radicchio, which looks like a purple-veined squid. The newest item for Coosemans New York, a specialty produce distributor at the Hunts Point Produce Market, Bronx, N.Y., is King scallions.
The scallions, sold in 1-pound packages, are 2.5-3 times spicier than regularly sized scallions, Ortega says.
The New York Produce Show and Conference was Dec. 10-13.
