Homegrown Organic expands offerings
Porterville, Calif.-based Homegrown Organic Farms plans to unveil a new citrus line in November, said Stephen Paul, category director for stone fruit, fall fruit and blueberries.
The company also anticipates growing volumes of organic fruit in the coming year, Paul said.
“Stone fruit is going to grow considerably,” he said. “We could see a doubling of our volume coming into 2019. We’ll probably be in the 250,000-package range, compared to 80,000 (in 2018).”
He attributed the growth to “new growers, new acreage, all new varieties.”
Paul noted that the company also has “a lot of blueberry acreage coming on.”
