Onions beat out cucumbers on PMG

Sweet onions unseated cucumbers as No. 1 on PMG the week of Aug. 10, climbing from No. 10 the previous week, and bulb onions took No. 2. Cucumbers fell to No. 3, and yellow plums fell to No. 4, while chili peppers rose four places to complete the top 5.

Okra fell to No. 6, from No. 3 the previous week, and beans fell to No. 7 from No. 4 previously. Figs fell to No. 8, from No. 5 the week before, and peaches fell to No. 9 from No. 6 previously. Chinese squash joined the list at No. 10.

Pickling cucumbers fell to No. 11 from No. 8 the week before, while organic pears gained two spots to land at No. 12. Italian prune plums appeared at No. 13. Mangoes rose three places to No. 14, and oranges fell to No. 15 from No. 13 the previous week.

Lettuce rose to No. 16 from No. 18 the week before, and bell peppers rejoined at No. 17. Tomatoes dropped to No. 18 from No. 15 the previous week, while yellow-flesh watermelon fell to No. 19 from No. 11. Avocados rounded out the top 20.
