Chiquita offers interactive musical banana stickers with Spotify

Chiquita Brands, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has partnered with music streaming platform Spotify to create an interactive “Blue Sticker” series. 

Five limited-edition stickers started appearing on Chiquita bananas April 27, according to a news release. 

Shoppers who pick up the bananas can listen to one of five Chiquita-inspired playlists, as well as remixes of the company’s original 1950s jingle, after scanning sticker codes on the Spotify application.

Also, special Golden Banana stickers will give shoppers access to games and a chance to win a variety of music-inspired prizes.

“The Spotify Blue Sticker series is intended to encourage those staying at home to join in a world-wide celebration of cheerful music and connect with playlists designed to get fans up and moving,” Carlos Lopez Flores, Chiquita president, said in the release.
