Clear Labs has received the International Association for Food Protection’s 2020 Food Safety Innovation Award.

The company’s Clear Safety platform was recognized for helping food safety professionals reduce risks with pathogen screening that enables insights beyond a yes/no result, according to a news release.

The platform uses targeted sequencing, which uses hundreds of millions of data points per analysis for “unprecedented accuracy,” according to the release.

“In their mission to bring next-generation sequencing technology out of the clinical space and into food, Clear Labs truly represents the future of the industry,” Mike Robach, former vice president of corporate food safety, quality and regulatory affairs for Cargill and former chairman of the board of directors of the Global Food Safety Initiative, said in the release.

Clear Labs recently unveiled a listeria detection solution that uses machine learning algorithms into environmental mapping, according to the release.

“Clear Safety is a result of years of learning, of listening, and of iterating to create the best possible product to serve the food industry,” Sasan Amini, CEO of Clear Labs, said in the release. “For us, the Innovation Award is validation to continue advancing our technology and innovating, which is exactly what we’re doing with our latest updates.”
