Colby Pereira joins Braga Fresh as VP of operations

Braga Fresh, Soledad, Calif., has hired Colby Pereira as vice president of operations.

Braga Fresh, Soledad, Calif., has hired Colby Pereira as vice president of operations.

She has an extensive background in agriculture, and most recently was manager at Costa Farms, where she was at for 15 years.

Pereira will support the overall farming and harvest operations at Braga Fresh, with a focus on employee health and safety, leading a COVID-19 response team, according to a news release.

“We need her talents as we grow, never more than now with the ever-changing landscape,” Rodney Braga, president and CEO, said in the release. “We will rely on Colby to help keep our teams safe and healthy during COVID-19 and beyond.”

Pereira has been involved in numerous organizations, including the food safety, land use and water use committees for the Monterey County Farm Bureau and Grower Shipper Association of Central California (and current board member), and the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement technical committee. She is on the California Leafy Greens Research Board and is an elected director to the Salinas Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency, according to the release.

She has been president of the Salinas Valley Chapter of California Women for Agriculture, representing Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. She is the board president of the Monterey County Farm Bureau.

“The Braga Family has a long history and deep roots in both our agricultural industry and local community, along with an outstanding reputation for producing and distributing premium fresh vegetables,” Pereira said in the release. “I am happy to join their dynamic team of professionals and build on that history.”
