USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and the California Department of Food and Agriculture have expanded the huanglongbing (HLB) and citrus greening quarantine in the state.
The expanded area adds 3 sq. miles in the Riverside area of Riverside County.
APHIS says this expansion is due to positive detections of HLB and greening in plant tissue samples collected from a residential property in Riverside. The agency says this expansion does not impact commercial citrus acres.
This expansion follows additional acres in the last few months of the Capistrano Beach area of Orange County and the Murrieta area of Riverside County, acres in Riverside County, the San Clemente area of Orange and San Diego counties, the Perris area of Riverside County and the area of Coto de Caza in Orange County, the Rancho San Margarita area of Orange County, the Perris area of Riverside County and the Rancho Cucamonga and San Bernadino areas of San Bernadino County.
