Lockport, N.Y.-based Crunch Time Apple Growers and PlayMonster 5-Second Rule Jr. Games are kicking off back-to-school season with a promotion designed to drive in-store traffic and build excitement in the produce aisle for SnapDragon apples and the children’s PlayMonster game.

Themed end-cap display units will add to the eight-week online promotion targeted to children and parents, according to a news release.

The campaign is designed to promote healthy snacking and healthy game activity off the screen.

“Moms are looking for nutritious, healthy snacks for their kids,” Rena Montedoro, Crunch Time vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release. “Board games are a healthy alternative to screen time. PlayMonster is a great fit for the ‘monster’ crunch apple brand.”

The online sweepstakes runs Oct. 21 to Dec. 31.

Anyone can register at www.snapdragonapple.com/playmonstersweepstakes/. Each week, a winner will receive a box of SnapDragon apples and a PlayMonster 5-Second Rule Jr. game. Registration instructions are available at the display bin’s take-one pocket.

“Retailers can really ramp up the promotion by adding in sampling programs and in-store display contests,” Montedoro said in the release.
