Melon supplier, Fyffes, released a report with early strategy successes on its first anniversary. The changes are part of a plan to improve operations, environmental impact and worker welfare on Honduran melon farms.

Fyffes and its Honduran melon subsidiary Sol Group have launched a series of ‘Community Medical Brigades’ to reach community members and seasonal workers surrounding their farms during the off-season.

The Socially Responsible Company Seal was awarded for the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and the well-being of its workers and their communities.

Fyffes started a program in Honduras in 2016 that distributes school supplies to farm workers’ children, giving incentives for academic growth.
