Several people were honored and their personalities celebrated as industry leaders prepared to advocate for potato-focused policies with legislators during the National Potato Council Washington Summit.

The National Farm Machinery Show revealed one major theme: the supply chain is still posing major problems for ag equipment manufacturers, an issue that’s improving, but could still last the remainder of this year.

The window to receive a reduced rate closes March 3, though online registration will remain open after that time.

The meeting will examine the “fruit and vegetable industry issues and provide recommendations and ideas on how USDA can tailor programs and services to better meet the needs of the U.S. produce industry.”

The Texas International Produce Association In Bloom Women’s Committee is set to host a game show-inspired event, “Challenge Accepted!” at Viva Fresh, followed by a special event for young industry professionals.

Washington-based Superfresh Growers has reported a strong second season for the up-and-coming apple variety, bred from Honeycrisp and Fiji for its sweetness and ability to hold freshness.

The produce veteran with over 25 years of organic produce sales experience will lead the company’s sales department.
